(Important announcement at the end if you want to skip down all of it lol)

Hi guys! Sorry it’s so late when I’m posting this lol, I’m just toning to talk about my day, I just went to my first ever crafty fair!! I didn’t even come close to selling out, but learned some valuable lessons in what non horsey people will buy from a very horsey booth!!

so I had to get up at six thirty am, shower, pack, and then mom drove us to the craft fair, it took all the way up to the starting hour, ten, to set up, I brought nine full sized hobbyhorses, and fifteen minis of varying sizes and prices.

It was quite slow, and it wasn’t until I warmed up a bit in starting the conversation between me and random people(as you are supposed to do when having a booth) so I didn’t really say anything other than, “hi”.

but after I warmed up a bit, I started being very like, pushy, which is what your supposed to do in a show, because out society makes you believe that if someone started talking you have to listen to everything, especially is they are a stranger and not a well known friend for family member.

So I started saying(I’m still slightly embarrassed) “Hi! These are my hobbyhorses that I have hand made, I stitched them all by hand, these mini minis have pencils for there sticks” pause, and wait for there face to change, because normally they would smile and laugh a bit, “ and the big minis has normal small dowls, then the normal sized hobbyhorses, the competition ones, have been named, they can be changed, and they have a little card attached saying there name and bio,”

I changed it up a bit, saying different words and mixing around sentences, at around eleven thirty, after two ish people said “I’ll come around again”, someone did, she bought a mini mini, then twenty some minutes later another person bought a mini mini as well.

Time flew(not really) my cousin came, MapleWoodStables(one of my best friends!) came and bought a big minis have, named Sweet Potato! And brought me a donut.( I traded her a venison jerky piece that my dad made for it lol)

So I made a little over 150, sold all but five minis, and none of my normal sized Hhs were sold. And here’s why,

I priced them lower than what a normal person selling these Hhs would, because of a few things, one, nobody there would come looking for a hobbyhorse besides Maplewood, two, people at a crafty fair who have no need for a HH won’t spend fifty and up for one. Especially when they can but a ten-thirty dollar mini. (The thirty dollar one was beautiful and had been on TV lol)

So, what I have taken away from this, is I need to talk more. Apparently you know you’ve done well when you loose your voice.(thanks mom?) and that I need to have more minis, and less big Hhs if I am going to continue these craft fairs, (maybe I will just so Maplewood will continue to buy 25 dollar Minis)

And also Maplewood, Te’ Fetti didn’t sell, (none of them did) so thanks a lot for whispering at him to not sell. (Hes really cute I love him so much-)

Another announcement! I will be opening an online shop soon!! It will not be Etsy, (I dislike there rules, and the way they leach M0ney off of you) but Mom and I will be talking it over. I’ll be posting loads of I get one started, and hopefully within this month I can start one up.

Sometime soon I’ll go shopping for fabrics.
