I can’t believe it has almost been a whole year since we lost this beautiful, gentle giant. Willow, you were the heart and soul of the yard, and you are missed so deeply every single day.

I will forever hold onto the bittersweet honor of being the very last person to ever ride you. Saturday at 11:00 in the arena is a memory I will carry in my heart for the rest of my life. You gave me your absolute best, just like you did for everyone who was lucky enough to sit on your back.

You passed away the next day, out in the fields where you were happiest, right before a tough week of mock exams started. Losing you so suddenly broke my heart, but I find so much comfort knowing your last 24 hours were filled with peace, rest, and love.

Now, you are finally reunited with your absolute best friend, Chloe, grazing together in the biggest fields in the sky. Thank you for looking after me, big girl. You will never, ever be forgotten.
