Part of the foundation’s “Move It” diabetes-sport programme, this open day at the national Olympic training centre introduces hobbyhorse sport to a wider fitness audience. A coach-led warm-up precedes friendly clear-rounds at 40 cm and 60 cm, timed barrel sprints and a relay over soft-foam fillers. Medical trainers monitor hydration and glucose, offering on-site advice to entrants who live with metabolic conditions. Participation is free but requires pre-registration; donations collected during the lunchtime demo fund sport-access grants. Every finisher receives a commemorative Papendal ribbon and can join the group cool-down led by national hockey legend Floris Evers.
