A playful eco-festival morphs into a hobbyhorsecross-country afternoon on the nature reserve’s grass trails. Riders start at 14:00 and tackle a flowing loop of low logs, hillocks and water trays, choosing 30 cm or 50 cm height options. A single €5 fee covers unlimited runs; loan hobbyhorses are free for first-timers. Volunteer marshals time every round, and Natuurpunt awards native-wildflower seed bombs to the quickest three in each class instead of rosettes—an environmental twist that lets winners “plant” their success back home. The main festival offers owl-box building, food trucks and live folk music, so families can spend the whole day on site.
