Get readyโbecause the 2nd German Championship in Hobby Horsing is already kicking into gear, and the road to 2026 starts now.
To create a diverse, accessible, and fair championship experience, the German Hungry Horse Association (DtHHV) is once again calling on passionate clubs and event organizers to help host the official qualification tournaments across the country in 2025. This initiative makes it possible for riders to avoid long-distance travel while ensuring that everyone, regardless of region, has a chance to compete for the national stage.
Organizers: Applications Now Open
If you’re a club or organizer interested in bringing the magic of hobby horsing to your town, applications to host a qualifying tournament are open until April 19, 2025. These events are key to building a balanced qualification system for the 2026 championships. Participants: Qualification Begins May 2025
To qualify for the 2026 Championships, participants must:

Be a DtHHV member

Be a German citizen
-
Compete in two qualifying tournaments within their designated qualification area

Enter no more than two tournaments

Be in the correct age group, based on 2026 birth year brackets:

U12: 2017โ2015
-
U15: 2014โ2012
-
U21: 2011โ2006
-
U31: 2005โ1996
-
U99: 1995 and older

Note: Participants may choose their qualification area based on residence or club location, but once chosen, itโs locked in.
Bring valid ID or a health insurance card to prove your age on the day of competition.
How Itโs Judged

Dressage: Memorized routines (U12 allowed a reader), judged by two separate judges.

Show Jumping: Held on 8x16m arenas, with course diagrams shared ahead of time.

Time Trial: Fastest time with penalties factored in.
How to Qualify for 2026
In each discipline (Dressage, Show Jumping, Time Trial) and age group, the top 20 participants nationwide will qualify:

Dressage & Show Jumping: Points from placings count. In case of a tie, highest individual score and then first tournament result breaks the tie.

Time Trial: The two fastest times (combined) determine the result.
